A finales de la primera década del s.XX Juan Arenas Cansino se establece en Málaga y abre el estudio de fotografía Foto Arenas en calle Santamaría.
Juan Arenas es también desde su aparición, en los años 20 hasta su cierre, en la Guerra Civil, el editor y propietario de la revista ilustrada Vida Gráfica, sin duda una de las más interesantes por sus aspectos socio-culturales de este período.
